I had a decent stay at Hotel Kodama, with great proximity to the ski slopes and friendly staff. However, the onsen was too small and crowded, and the room was quite dated with some uncomfortable bedding. The dining experience was a highlight with delicious meals, though it was a bit rigid about extra guests.

Rooms
6.0
My family room was spacious, but the bedding left much to be desired—firm cushions and hard pillows didn’t make for the best sleep.
Service
8.0
The staff were super friendly and helpful, catering well to my family's needs.
Location
9.0
The location was fantastic, right at the foot of the slopes with easy access to bus stops and rentals.
Dining
7.0
Dinner was a treat with a variety of Japanese dishes, though they could have offered more veggie options.
Facilities
5.0
The onsen was too cramped and lacked some amenities, and the common areas could use more coziness.

I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Kodama, with some fantastic highlights like the very nice location right next to the ski slopes. The staff was friendly and eager to help me with my dietary needs, which made my meals enjoyable. However, my room was a bit cold, and the heating system didn't keep it warm enough after a long day of skiing.

Rooms
6.0
The twin room was clean but had a hard mattress that made it difficult to sleep comfortably. There were also some heating issues, especially since my room felt cold most of the time.
Service
8.0
The staff was friendly and accommodating, especially when I informed them about my dietary restrictions. They went out of their way to prepare special meals for me, which I really appreciated.
Location
9.0
The hotel has a great location right next to the ski lifts, making it super easy to ski in and out. Plus, the bus stop right next door was convenient for getting around the area.
Dining
8.0
The dinning options were diverse and tasty, particularly the seven-course Japanese dinners. It was great to enjoy good food after a long day on the slopes.
Facilities

The onsen was a nice touch after skiing, providing a relaxing way to unwind. The hotel also had easy ski pass access, which made getting out on the slopes hassle-free.

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Kodama thanks to its fantastic location near the ski lifts and rental shops, making it easy to hit the slopes. However, the hotel is a bit dated and lacks some comfort features. The staff was friendly and accommodating, especially with dietary needs, but the dining experience could be improved.

Rooms
6.0
My room was a family room that was clean but a bit outdated, especially the foam cushions which were hard and cracked. The lighting felt too dim, and I struggled with some uncomfortable sleeping conditions due to the pillows and noise from plumbing.
Service
8.0
The staff were really nice and made an effort to cater to my family's allergies, which I appreciated. They were polite during our stay and helpful whenever we needed assistance.
Location
9.0
The hotel is perfectly situated near the ski slopes, making it incredibly convenient. I loved how close it was to the bus stop and ski rental shops—everything I needed was just a short walk away.
Dining
6.0
Dinner was generally plentiful and featured some local ingredients, but the meals were served all at once, which made the hot food cold quickly. The breakfast buffet had a lot of fried options, and I found the overall dining experience a bit too institutional.
Facilities
5.0
While the ski locker area was decent, the lack of a drying room for ski gear was annoying. I had to bring my ski boots to my room, which was not convenient at all.

I had an enjoyable stay at Hotel Kodama. The atmosphere was very traditional, and the meals were absolutely fantastic, with dinner getting better each night. While the hotel is across from the ski lifts and perfectly located for skiing, the facilities are somewhat dated and lack storage space. Overall, it was a great experience with a few minor issues in room comfort.

I had a mixed experience at Hotel Kodama. The location is fantastic, right next to the ski slopes and a convenient bus stop. However, the age of the hotel shows, with some areas underutilized and a need for better upkeep. While the staff was friendly and accommodating, the dining options left something to be desired, especially during peak meal times.

Rooms
8.0
My room was a family room that had a private bathroom, which I appreciated. It was clean but basic, and some features felt a bit dated.
Service

The hotel's location is unbeatable. right next to the ski slopes and the bus stop, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining
7.0
While breakfast was abundant, it felt a bit rushed due to limited time slots, and dinner, although plentiful, had an institutional vibe. not my favorite. The highlight was the sukiyaki night!
Facilities

The hotel provides a ground-level dry room for ski gear and has a small locker system, but I wish there had been a dedicated drying room for ski boots and equipment.
